Columbus has many neighborhoods, each with its own benefits to living there. One of the most notable is Dinglewood, which is about 2 miles from the heart of the downtown area. It’s full of renovated, historic homes, college students, and military families. Many of the single-family homes here are stunning. Rosehill is another neighborhood. It’s located on the riverbank and is home to college students, professors, professionals, and active military.
Clubview Heights/Hilton Heights is a modern, affluent community in the city. It’s an older area with beautiful properties and a place where everyone knows their neighbors. City Village is a neighborhood with many modern updates and a strong business district. It’s home to various professionals who want larger homes and nice amenities.
Weracoba Heights is known for its smaller home designs, many of which were built in the 1930s. It's a charming place to call home, and that's why many active military members live here. Boxwood Estates is a smaller location with modern homes and apartments. It’s noted for its good schools and parks.
Columbus is a thriving community that's noted for its schools, including several colleges such as Columbus State University, Columbus Technical College, and Georgia Military College.
The city is also noted for its outdoor activities. One of the reasons for that is the city’s location on the riverfront. That opens the door for whitewater kayaking and rafting, popular pastimes in the area. The area also has a number of zip lines, including some that allow individuals to zip right across the river. The park system is also beautiful here, with over 50 parks, 4 recreation centers, and 4 senior centers here. The Chattahoochee RiverWalk is also located here. It’s a 15-mile walking and biking trail.
There’s lots to do on any given day. It’s possible to take in a football game at A. J. McClung Memorial Stadium or a show at the Bradley Theater. Golden Park is a 5,000-set baseball stadium home to the Columbus Catfish. The Columbus Civic Center is a multi-purpose arena home to indoor football and an ice hockey team.
The RiverCenter for the Performing Arts puts on live theater in the downtown area. Or, residents may wish to check out MidTown, one of the best shopping districts in the area. Peachtree Mall is also in this area. It’s a bit newer and packed with anchor stores.
